Hi there!!
The great news is (i don't know if you noticed) that now i can sell my art directly from my blog....

I got this program - ccnow- that you can add a shopping cart to your site or blog for almost nothing....i'd rather have a real site besides my blog but i'll have to way and see if that is possible...

Next week i'm programmed to show in some indie crafs fairs here nearby, in great Milan. I very excited i'm hopping it to be a great experience...and since we're this close to christmas also hope to make some good sales there! The only thing is that i hope the weather allows an open space fair!!!! It's been snowing since this morning and it hasn't stopped all day!!! So let's hope i can make it!

The coldest winter of my life...

Hi there!
I used to live all my life in warm climate countries, as i told you before, like Portugal and Spain... I'm really not used to this kind of cold weather...It's been 2ºC since the day before yesterday and it snow at night time.... I'm really freaking out...i've been at home a lot... working in my pieces and on the net...

i'm a little short on money to tell you the truth...this economic crisis has hit us all..
one of these days a read an article about how it was easier to start a new business in a crisis time but i'm really not sure that's true...I have to be persistent and hold on...

I'm also a little short on materials so i'll have to spend a little more next weekend at the monthly antiques fair here in Milan....if i can find some interesting material...
I found two new stores to leave my pieces in but i have to have good material to show them...i'm also going to visit my lady friend in Fiori dei tempo, that sometimes buys directly from me, to see if she wants any material for Christmas...

Today i'm posting some new pieces and let's see if tomorrow i can post the ones i made today...
Hope you like it...
see you later....
I also made my firts video ever (out of photos!) and upload it to you tube. If you like follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdAenwKOGWY

After a week in Portugal....

Hello...

it's a been a while since i wrote...i've been at home, in Lisbon, and it was a little to busy for me...and then, my internet service didn't worked for a week... so it was a little bit difficult for me to keep in touch...
Back home, I was most of the time with my new nephew, Gui, who is just 2 months old!!!!
He's so, so cute....But he was already a lot bigger and he seemed to me like another baby.... well, that's one of those things of being away from home...you miss some important moments...
I also managed to buy some working material there and i already put aside some christmas gifts for my mother and sister (they saw my pieces and wanted a pair of earrings each!!!)...i'll put the photos of those here today...

I'm really not sure if anyone in the world reads my blog, but it's a good therapy for me and it keeps my english up to date...
I'm also a little bit dissapointed with the on-line sales on etsy....i put a lot of hard work into it and no one seems to buy anything... Wonder how all those big sellers at etsy manage to do it...i'll keep trying any how...
Any way i've made my first sale on ebay and made up a new page in facebook.

i had some new ideas and i'm thinking of also making clutch bags...let's see what turns out...

today i got good news: i've been chosen to expose in a very exclusive sale in the 4-star hotel here in Milan...It's on february 19th and i'm very, very happy because it's a great opportunity... Be sure to see all the photos of the event in the future ...
see you tomorrow...if internet lets me do it...

Today i'm posting some of my still available pieces - on sale on ebay (user vanettexiclete) and on my ebay (user vanettexiclete)...

One-of-a-kind piece with 6 re-customized adorable hand-painted china buttons. Each button as a beautiful flower hand-painted on it. The composition is finished with little swarosky crystals. It's just so original and so romantic!!!!

The theme of these piece are the flowers. Flowers in diferent forms...made out of metal, hand-painted in a vintage china button....This is a really cute pair of earrings and you can use either in a day-to-day casual situacion or a formal one, like an office cristhmas party....

Necklace composition using a 1920's translucid button with beautiful engravings on the inside and black and gold yellow crystal beads. It looks as it has travel through time from the golden 20's to nowdays!!

And now something new....my first clutch bag.....hope you like it...

Yellow vinyl clutch bag brought into a vintage look, using vintage materials. The bag has a superior line made of black glass vintage buttons, adorned with little metal leafs. In the center i used 3 very particular black vintage buttons: 2 glass and one bakelite. The composition gives this bag a post-modern look, mixing old-days vintage materials with contemporary pieces. It's the soul of the party!

New pieces on my Etsy store

STILL ON SALE ON MY ETSY SHOP!
Hi there!
I've been working a lot these days in between making of the pieces, taking photos, mantaining the etsy site and the blog... It takes a lot more time then i thought...
But i manage to even up-grade a little bit on my blog... i think you've noticed... I added a slide-show and a ready-made etsy mini photo panel....
I also bought an ad from google to my blog... let's see how it works out...
The pair of earrings shown above are made from that set of buttons i bought in the Naviglio Grande antiques market... i started already to work on those pieces... i already sold a pair to a friend!! She saw it on my Etsy store and ask me to send them to her to Barcelona.
As you might i've noticed i'm trying new backgrounds for my phtotos because i thought the all black one (althought it's very classy) to be a little bit dull, fundamentally for the Etsy photos...
Still trying but hope you enjoy....
See some other pieces of these "new" kind.....

STILL ON SALE ON MY ETSY SHOP!
This button was found in this old-stuff shop in Barcelona where i discovered thes lady that had all the stock left from and old button factory, that had closed down!!!!
What a button-lovers dream!

STILL ON SALE ON MY ETSY SHOP!

This lovely pair of earrings is a success with all my friends.... I've used a 70's bakelite leaf-shaped button that the owner from Fiori nel tempo here in Milan gave me...I finished up the composition with a blue crystal bead and real swarosky crystals.

I really like the result...

Job interview

Today i had a job interview here in Milan...to work in a landscape architecture studio (that's my conventional profession, if you didn't knew already)...
I really don't know how it went by...i think it went ok...but they told me they can guarantee anything and that, althought they have lots of work these days (there's not even space for anyone else or any computers left!!) maybe we'll take a tryout period...i don't know...
I don't have the willing to work again in a studio 8 hours a day, lots of time over-time and get very badly paid...they started the conversation by saying "we pay very badly in this place"....
It's a very important landscape studio so it would be good for my resume...but will see...
I would like so much to lealive from my jewellery and accessories...that would be just great..
finally i found something i'm really good at...
yesterday i had some new ideas to start making another kind of accessories!!! be sure to get the news when something arises...
Today i'm posting a little bit more pictures because yesterday i couldn't do it...hope today everything is ok...
Bye hope to see you all tomorrow!

THIS ITEM IS STILL FOR SALE ON MY ETSY SHOP!!!!

This necklace is a composition of three diferent shaped sea-green buttons. I got these buttons from the lady owner of that shop in Milan i told you before- Fiori nel tempo. She had some old buttons and when she saw my work she asked if i could do something with them....so i tryed and she even bought some of the pieces to the store...

In fact this happens quite a lot...people who have an old piece at home.... a special button, a buckle...and never imagined possible to do something wearable with them....they then see my work and ask to try....i just love the experience because it's allways something new...

I'll post other photos from that lot of buttons ok?

Hope you enjoy

and then the winter came....

for this last couple of days i've been at home...it started to rain and the cold as arrived here in Milan...The winter is very hard here...it rains all the time and it's very very cold........
For me it's very difficult since i come from Lisbon, and after that i've lived in Barcelona, where's it's almost never cold and it never rains...
I need to get used to this kind of winter...northern style...

I don't like cold or rain for that matter...So i've been at home which is very very cosy, and this days me and Daniel have been in such a good mood...he always makes me laugh a lot....

So i've been searching a lot through the web universe to getting to know where i can meet people who have similar interest in crafts and in blogs and i made some new friends- instantly!!!!
that was a good experience....i now await ansiously my first sale on etsy...
hope it comes soonnnnnnnnnnn

Now for a little bit more of my pieces....

This is one of my all time favourites - it's a old-gold choker made out of a Very, very beautiful 1900's handmade buckle...It has little stones...

The greatest part of this necklace to me it's that it closes and opens through the buckle!!!

I'm very proud of this one even because it was a little hard to set up this way...
THIS ONE IS FOR SALE ON MY ETSY SHOP!!!! JUST CLICK ON THE ASIDE LINK ON MY BLOG TO SEE THIS AN OTHER OF MY PIECES!!!!

Trip to Rome!!

Hello AGAIN...
this weekend we went to Rome!
My boyfriend is a musician and he and his band wan an award of best "new thing of 2008" so we went there to the party and to visit....By the way their name is Selton and their amazing!!!!
You should check out their myspace at - www.myspace.com/seltonselton.

We return yesterday morning and i still had some time to catch the antiques monthly market at the Naviglio Grande here in Milan, where i found some new amazing material for my jewels!!!
Be sure to expect some new great stuff...

I also have my pieces in a store there and yesterday i found out i have sold another two pairs of hearings...it's slow but it's going...

I'll put some of my already made pieces since i want to make this blog a kind of a all-time catalog...

This ones we're sold to a store here in Milan and the buttons also came from that amazing antiquary shop in Barcelona i told you about last time....this ones look particulary old...like a true finding...

This is one of the first pieces i've made....its made with and old buckle that i found in this flee market in Barcelona - Glories - and i had a cute conversation with the pakistanese man who was selling it, because he wanted to charge 3 euros and i told him it's was all broken....He asked me if i was going to fix it, and i told me that i was but at that point it was all broken and if he could sell it at 1 euro!!! at he end he did...

Now my mothers is the proud owner of this necklage and even bought a pair of shoes to match it!!! It's a success with her friends...

This is a bracelet...it's the first i post here but not the first i've made...

it took me a lot of time and work to do because i had to do all the little parts and them ensemble them...this button is also another one from that lot of Barcelona's antique shop....

IT'S CURRENTLY STILL ON SALE!!!! so check out my etsy store by clicking the etsy item on my blog....

Hope you enjoy it....

first day

Hello everyone....
it's my first day of blogging... i have this continuous sensation that i have to know too much things at the same time....because other than i've change country once again, (because i used to leave in Lisbon and than in Barcelona!!!), i'm learning italian, making my pieces, searching for materials, and stores to leave it in... i can't get to know everything about blogger, etsy, Dawanda, right tags, entrecard.....ahhhh it's too much information for me right now....

So i'll do one thing at the time and first leave my first photos of some of my favourite pieces...Their all handmade and in this case made with old and vintage buttons.

I'll leave a little explanation on each one....

Thanks for reading.

This piece is called Jo's earrings because i specifically made them for one of my best friends, Joana. I found these buttons in this really cute clothes antiquary in Barcelona. These two old-fashioned gentlemen own these really amazing store completly full with all kinds of vintage dresses, coats, shoes, jewellery, hats, scarfs, buckles, and of course, buttons!!!!
I really started my handcrafts activity a very, very short time ago and all of my relatives and friends were very surprised because no one knew about my skills. I'm a totally self-learner at this point but i would surelly like to make some investments in this field of work....
All my pieces are one of a kind because i never find the same materials to work on and i don't want to....I also make designs for a specific person, to their style and taste, so these ones are Joana's custom made!!!!

This one is one of my favourites at this time....This button i bought from a seller in Ucraine... i think it's from the 1900's....It's still currently on sale i if i don't sell it to these stores i'm going these afternoon i putting it on etsy when i have the time and can get organized doing all of these computer work...
I'm not a net resources kind of person... i mean i wasn't but seems i have to change.... i normally used internet to see mails, to watch movies, to browse myspace and youtube for strange and fun stuff.. but i never got enroled in those kinds of communities such as facebook and orkut....But now i think it's time....

This is other one from that order that came from Ucraine... This is also one of the fírst pieces i sold as soon as i got to Milan... To a friend of the owner of the house we were staying...You know how it goes...you show it just to let pleople know your doing it and they like it and end up buying.. which is always gratifying.....

This pair of earrings went to the same friend who just wanted the necklage but ended up by falling in love with these two and made another purchase...that's allways a great deal!!!

Here's another custom made pair of earrings....These ones to another great friend who also got very surprised...The buttons are also from that nice antiquary in Barcelona, in hand-crafted bakelite....very, very beautiful....i hope the composition is coherent...
